GUT Miami shines at Cannes Lions as one of the top Anglo-Latin agencies (while GUT Argentina is crowned Agency of the Year)

(By Juan Maqueda and Marcelo Maurizio) We present the most awarded Independent (Anglo) Latin Agencies at the prestigious Cannes Lions Festival. The results obtained at Cannes 2023 allow us to analyze their performance. The renowned industry magazine LatinSpots has generated a specific ranking of independent agencies in (Anglo)Latam.

We are pleased to share the outstanding performance of agencies with great Latin talent and a diverse fusion of Anglo-Latin cultures. Starting with the first position, the renowned agency GUT Buenos Aires (Arg) has been crowned Independent Agency of the Year. In the second position is Lanzallamas, also from Argentina, followed by GUT Sao Paulo (BR), GUT Los Angeles, and in fifth position, GUT Miami. These agencies have demonstrated their creative and strategic excellence in the Latin American and Anglo-Latin advertising industry.

GUT Argentina, the world champion of advertising agencies:

GUT (Argentina), the internationally renowned agency, crowned itself at the closing of the 70th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The historic week concluded with GUT being named Agency of the Year, Independent Agency of the Year, and Independent Network of the Year. These recognitions come after their outstanding work at the event, where they received prestigious Grand Prix awards in the Creative Data and Mobile categories. "The Artois Probability" for Stella Artois, by GUT Buenos Aires, won the Grand Prix in Creative Data, while "World Cup Delivery" by PedidosYa, also from GUT Buenos Aires, triumphed with the Grand Prix in the Mobile category. Additionally, GUT Los Angeles stood out with the Grand Prix in the PR category for their campaign "Self Love Bouquet" for Doordash. GUT's success at Cannes Lions once again demonstrates their leadership in the advertising industry and their ability to make an impact through creative and disruptive strategies.

GUT Buenos Aires, the agency founded and led five years ago by the successful creatives Gaston Bigio and Anselmo Ramos, has left an indelible mark on Cannes Lions 2023. With Joaquín Cubría and Nacho Ferioli as CCOs and main partners, the agency stands out as the Best Independent Agency of the Festival and triumphs in the Track Engagement and Experience categories. The hard work of GUT's talented teams in various offices has led to a resounding victory with 3 Grand Prix, 8 Golds, 11 Silvers, and 13 Bronzes. The Buenos Aires offices led the way with 2 Grand Prix and a total of 17 metals, followed by Los Angeles with 1 Grand Prix, Miami with 4 metals, Sao Paulo with 9 metals, and Mexico with 2 Bronzes. This outstanding participation at Cannes Lions is a testament to GUT's commitment and creative excellence in the advertising field, further solidifying their position as a leading agency in the business world.

The Anglo-Latin Ranking:

The LatinSpots Ranking (generated by the prestigious magazine) takes into account the awards and recognitions obtained by agencies in the Cannes 2023 edition. It also considers the participation of Latin agencies and those working for the Hispanic market in the United States.

It is important to highlight that agencies sharing awards accumulate the corresponding points, but only one unit is counted per country in case both agencies are of the same origin.
