(By Marcelo Maurizio and Juan Maqueda / from Miami) In our section "The Best Places to Enjoy," we want to share with you those spectacular places, those icons of the City of the Sun that you can't miss. Today, we focus on Café La Trova, which will be participating in the Miami Spice festival. It is an authentic Cuban bar, the kind of Cuba libre that we all desire, which transports the magic of Cuba before communism and has become a reference in Miami's international gastronomy. This place is recognized worldwide.

Café La Trova has been recognized for its exquisite cocktails, such as the Hemingway Daiquiri from Floridita, also known as Papa Doble (white rum, maraschino, grapefruit juice, and lime juice), as well as for its "historic 'cantinero' style of island cocktail making."

Julio Cabrera, the main person responsible for the success of this establishment located on 8th Street, is considered the face of the modern Cuban cocktail movement and the biggest promoter of the "cantinero" style. Dressed in elegant tuxedos, La Trova's bartenders perform acrobatics with their utensils, tossing drinks in the air and occasionally taking a break to play with the live band.

In addition, Café La Trova has been chosen as the setting for scenes in iconic movies and TV series. Among them is "The Fate of the Furious" from the "Fast & Furious" saga, where the bar became the backdrop for exciting car chases. It has also been featured in the TV series "Narcos: Mexico," where the main characters immerse themselves in La Trova's vibrant Cuban atmosphere.

Café La Trova's fame has also transcended the screens, being mentioned in renowned books and recommended by acclaimed travel and gastronomy magazines. The unique experience this bar offers has captivated writers and culinary critics, making it a must-visit destination for lovers of good food and well-crafted cocktails.
