Ahead of the full selection of the Michelin Guide Florida 2023, which will be announced at a ceremony next week, the world's leading restaurant guide has announced eight new additions to its Bib Gourmand list. Among the honorees, two restaurants in Miami have received recognition.
"The restaurants joining the Bib Gourmand selection demonstrate that food lovers can find tasty international feasts in their own backyard, in Miami, Orlando, or Tampa," said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides, in a press release. "These establishments are not only unique for their tasty dishes and quality ingredients but are also accessible in terms of price and ambiance. The critics/inspectors are excited about these additions, and the teams at these restaurants have much to be proud of."
They are as follows:
Jaguar Sun
Jaguar Sun, the downtown favorite, is an intimate restaurant and cocktail bar that serves "a winning combination of excellent homemade pastas and balanced, creative cocktails," wrote the Guide. Highlights include the Warm Parker House rolls and Caesar salads, umami-filled mushroom tagliatelle, and spicy strozzapreti with stuffed mussels, 'nduja, and breadcrumbs.
Location: 230 NE 4th St, Miami, FL 33132
Rosie's
This soul food concept, located in Little River and conceptualized by the couple Jamila and Akino West, is known for its Southern-inspired dishes. The Guide highlights the restaurant's standout brunch, such as deviled eggs with chicharrones, biscuits in guanciale gravy, and fluffy banana pancakes with vanilla pastry cream, as well as "strong hits" like hot chicken and waffles and fried fish and grits with collard greens.
Location: 7127 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33150
Other Florida restaurants making their debut in the Bib Gourmand selection include Gorkhali Kitchen (Tampa), Isan Zaap (Orlando), Norigami (Winter Garden), Otto's High Dive (Orlando), Psomi (Tampa), and Taste of Chengdu (Orlando).
The complete winners of the Michelin Guide 2023 will be announced on Thursday, May 11th, at an invitation-only event at LoanDepot Park.
