The Ambiance: Malibu in the '70s, but pink.
The Fare: Fast and casual Barbiecore. Expect 'beach burgers' and 'West Coast wave salads,' 'Pacific Paradise pancakes,' and 'Tubular Tenders.' There's even a mega yacht filled with cupcakes that will sail straight to your table, and shiny cocktails will also be served. Even the hummus is Barbie pink.
Malibu Barbie Café opens on January 31 in Wynwood (350 NW 24th St) after stops in New York, Chicago, and the Mall of America in Minnesota. The activation is a collaboration between Mattel and Bucketlisters, the same company that brought you The Golden Girls Kitchen. Advance tickets cost between $39 and $44 for adults and between $29 and $34 for children, including a main course, a side, and a cake pop.
Cocktails and other menu items will be available for an additional charge. Tickets are not yet on sale, but you can sign up for their waiting list to be first in line to purchase.
