Tech War 2: Elon Musk enters the AI battle, with a very different vision

(By Dino Dal Molin and Marcelo Maurizio, from Miami) Technology magnate Elon Musk has expressed his concern about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) and announced his intention to create an AI company that is "unlikely to annihilate humans." Musk believes that extensive language models like ChatGPT are being trained to be "politically correct" and "liars." Additionally, he has claimed that Twitter is forming "sophisticated" computer teams to "pursue generative AI."

While Musk has been one of the earliest donors to OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, he currently disagrees about the path this AI is taking. Musk refers to chatbots like Bing and ChatGPT as technologies with the potential to destroy civilizations. He is concerned about the potential dangers of AI and is against the rapid escalation of unlimited software development.

Regarding competition in the AI race, ChatGPT launched an early test version of its chatbot last year, followed by Bing in January and Google with Bard and possibly soon with Magi, which will be an extension of the traditional search engine. However, with Musk's entry into the world of AI, everything can change, as his concern for the risks and irresponsibility of his competitors makes him a possible major player in the AI race.

In summary, AI is a fascinating and exciting technology, but it must also be handled with caution. Elon Musk's concern for the safety of AI is shared by many other technology leaders. Musk's entry into the world of AI could change the way this technology is developed and increase safety and responsibility in its development.
