Crandon Park: The Secret Beach You Have to Visit in Miami

(By the editors of Infonegocios Miami and Marcelo Maurizio) Miami is known for its beautiful beaches, but if you're looking for a lesser-known and more spectacular beach, I would recommend exploring Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne. Here we provide you with more information about this beach.

Crandon Park Beach is located on the island of Key Biscayne, just east of Miami. This beach is famous for its soft, white sand, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque natural surroundings. Unlike the more crowded beaches of South Beach and Miami Beach, Crandon Park offers a more peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Situated on Cayo Vizcaíno, Crandon Park Beach is one of the best beaches in Miami, although its popularity is often overshadowed by the glamour of the queen of beaches: South Beach. Check out our report here.

One of the most prominent features of Crandon Park Beach is its extensive coral reef located near the shore. This makes it an ideal spot for snorkeling and diving, allowing you to explore the diverse marine life and beautiful corals. In addition to enjoying the beach and the sea, Crandon Park also offers other facilities and activities. You can rent kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles to explore the nearby trails and natural areas. There are also tennis courts and golf courses in the park, as well as picnic areas and grills for enjoying a day outdoors.

Before or after going to the beach, we suggest you don't miss out on visiting one of the most charming places in Miami, Clásica Victoria. Here we provide you with all the information about this culinary paradise.

Crandon Park has a rich history. In the past, it was home to a vast coconut plantation and served as a dwelling place for Native American tribes, soldiers, and pirates. In 1947, a zoo was established with the intention of turning the area into a major tourist destination, and in 1981, the Crandon Park Zoo was relocated to the south of Miami, becoming the Miami Metrozoo.

Keep in mind that although Crandon Park Beach may be less known than other beaches in Miami, it remains popular among locals, and there may be a certain influx of visitors, especially during weekends and tourist seasons. However, compared to the more crowded beaches, you are likely to find a more tranquil and less crowded experience.

Crandon Park Beach is divided into two distinct zones. The northern part, with more waves, is frequented by surfers, while the southern part, with white sand and calm waters, is usually where families and couples go. One advantage of this beach is that it has a palm tree-filled area where you can seek shelter on hot summer days, as well as dozens of tables and grills for those who choose to dine by the beach. Another convenience of Crandon Park Beach is its huge parking lot right in front.

Crandon Park Beach is located very close to Bill Baggs. If we compare these two beaches, they couldn't be more different. Bill Baggs remains in a wild and exotic state, while Crandon Park is a beach with more amenities. To the north of Crandon Park, you will find Virginia Beach, a beach with large waves frequented by surfers.

Crandon Park Beach has been a popular location for film shoots, photo sessions, and events due to its natural beauty. Here are some well-known examples:

Film: "2 Fast 2 Furious" (2003) - This action and car-focused film, part of the "Fast & Furious" franchise, included scenes filmed at Crandon Park Beach.

Photo session: Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition - The prestigious magazine has conducted numerous photo sessions at Crandon Park Beach with renowned models and photographers.

Music video: "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John (1983) - This iconic music video by the famous singer was filmed at Crandon Park Beach, capturing the beauty of the beach and its surroundings.

Fashion events: Crandon Park Beach has served as a venue for fashion shows and events related to the fashion industry. Various designers and brands have chosen this location to showcase their collections and conduct photo sessions.
