(By Mary Molina, Maurizio, and Otero) The world is becoming aware of the two main political divisions beyond the traditional dichotomy between left and right: on one hand, electoral dictatorships that do not accept alternation in power, and on the other, democracies in all their forms. It is crucial that international organizations such as the UN and the OAS take action against the support of countries like Russia, China, Nicaragua, and Iran for these fraudulent practices. Venezuela has become a paradigmatic example of an electoral farce, where millions of migrants have fled persecution and poverty imposed by a regime that disguises itself as a revolutionary democracy. The international community must face the reality of the existence of electoral dictatorships in countries like Russia, Cuba, China, and Venezuela, and question if there are others in Latin America, and even in provincial states in countries like Brazil, Argentina, or Bolivia.
(By Maximiliano Mauvecin, International Relations Expert) The potential return of millions of Venezuelans to their homeland after Maduro's departure in 2024 carries significant implications not only for Venezuela but also for the countries that have welcomed these migrants, such as the U.S., Brazil, and Colombia.
