Inter Miami CF becomes the team with the most followers in the MLS after Messi's announcement

Just take a look at Instagram, and you'll see.

After the news broke that Lionel Messi wanted to join Inter Miami CF, many fans quickly flocked to the football club's Instagram account, pushing its number of followers to new heights.

The profile had around one million followers before the news came out, a number that had already been growing as rumors of Messi's arrival started circulating on social media. But once the move became official last Wednesday, the club's Instagram profile has reached six million followers so far!

It's only natural, considering Messi himself is the second most followed person on the platform with 469 million followers (the first being fellow footballer Cristiano Ronaldo). But with six million followers, Inter Miami now has the most followed sports page among any NFL, MLB, NHL, or MLS team.

For example, the NFL team with the most followers is the New England Patriots with 4.9 million, and the MLB team with the most followers is the New York Yankees with around three million.

Inter Miami has also surpassed the most followed MLS team, LA Galaxy, which currently has 1.5 million followers. We can't say if the club's follower count will stop growing or when, but one thing is for sure: it is growing rapidly.

Inter Miami has already surpassed seven million followers and continues to grow day by day.

Messi's post alone has nearly four million likes...

MESSIAMI is a milestone for sports in Miami and the USA.
