So how do we do it?

We suggest starting at 6 AM to give you the chance to explore the Florida Keys, an archipelago of approximately 1,700 islands.

The first key on your way is Key Largo, followed by Tavernier and Islamorada. A stop you cannot miss is Marathon, home to Sombrero Beach, one of the most tranquil and beautiful beaches. Here, the pace slows down and the natural beauty unfolds before your eyes. As you drive on, the ocean becomes your travel companion on both sides of the road. But the real spectacle comes when you cross the famous 7 Mile Bridge, a historic bridge that makes you feel like you're floating over the water. To your right, you can see the remnants of an old bridge, a perfect snapshot for your social media. Further ahead, at Bahia Honda Key, Bahia Honda State Park awaits you with its unmatched beauty, ideal for a second stop and some memorable photos.

Once you arrive in Key West, get ready to immerse yourself in its vibrant culture. This place, just 90 miles from Cuba, is known for its laid-back atmosphere, swaying palm trees, and a mix of tourists and locals enjoying life. The stereotype of the residents is unmistakable: shorts, t-shirts, sunglasses, hats, and, of course, a beer in hand, just as depicted in series like “Bloodline” on Netflix.

You cannot miss visiting Fort Zachary Taylor, a national park that was a military fort and now houses a historical museum. Additionally, here you will find one of the most beautiful beaches in Key West, famous for its crystal-clear water and magnificent sunsets over the reefs. From this point, you can watch the cruise ships departing from Mallory Square. The entrance to this park costs only $2 per person, and a bit more if you decide to enter by car. So, if you're ready for a road trip that combines stunning landscapes, idyllic beaches, and the unique essence of Key West, don’t hesitate any longer.

Sunset Key: The Paradise of Key West

If the sun isn’t shining enough for a swim, don’t worry, because Duval Street is waiting for you with open arms. This is the vibrant artery of Key West, where life never stops. Stroll among gift shops, bars, and restaurants that are a feast for the senses. Don't miss gems like the famous Dollar Bar, Rick’s, Sloppy Joe’s, the bold Garden of Eden (a nudist bar that's definitely unique), and the energetic Green Parrot. Here, tradition is felt in every corner, with live music inviting you to raise your glass and toast. The bars come to life from 6 PM, filling with laughter and good vibes until 2 AM.

As evening falls, the ideal spot to watch the sunset is Mallory Square. This dock is the epicenter of the spectacle, bustling with bars, restaurants, and street performers dancing and entertaining while the sun sets on the horizon. Applause and cheers can be heard each time the sun bids farewell; it’s a ritual you cannot miss.

If you’re looking for something more exclusive, embarking on a sunset cruise is a sublime experience. The most popular companies, like Fury and Seacat, offer tours that cost around $75. Imagine sailing the sea while enjoying “Conch Fritters,” unlimited drinks, and a live band accompanying you on this magical journey. The adventure begins at 5 PM and returns once night takes over the sky.

And if you have a bit more budget, there’s no better way to end the day than dining at Conch Republic Seafood Company, located on the dock. While it can be a bit pricey (around $60 per person), the experience of enjoying fresh seafood in a spectacular setting is something you will carry with you forever.

In summary, the Florida Keys are full of treasures waiting to be discovered. This is just a small glimpse of all that awaits you, so get ready for an unforgettable road trip filled with beaches, bars, and adventures that will leave you wanting more.

Key West is waiting for you!
