What is the best airline in the world in 2023? What are the top 10?

(By Juan Maqueda in collaboration with Marcelo Maurizio) We'll share two different specialized sources of information and evaluation that, although they provide different results, many of the selected airlines coincide in both systems and occupy the top positions.

AirHelp Score Ranking:
Qatar Airways leads the AirHelp Score rankings, which measure punctuality, customer opinion, and problem resolution.

There are global airlines that have achieved a clear recovery post-pandemic and stand out for the exceptional service they provide, as reflected in customer ratings. The AirHelp Score ranking showcases airlines that offer the best service, maintain punctuality, and treat passengers fairly when issues arise, where the experience goes beyond ticket prices.

According to this ranking, Qatar Airways takes the top spot with a score of 8.11 out of 10, with a punctuality rating of 7.6, customer opinion at 8.9, and problem resolution at 7.8.

This airline also received the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards last year. It has claimed the highest accolade a total of seven times since the awards' inception in 1999. Qatar Airways has also been recognized for having the best business class, the finest business class seat, and the top business class lounge dining experience.

In second place, we have United Airlines with an overall score of 8.07. The airline scored 7.9 for punctuality and 7.9 and 8.4 for customer opinion and complaint management, respectively.

Taking the third spot is Qantas, achieving a score of 8.02. Qantas is one of the oldest and largest airlines in its country. It has also been acknowledged as one of the world's safest airlines, according to Airlines Rating. It has maintained its position in this ranking since 2014, remaining incident-free for five consecutive years and several decades without any major accidents.

AirlineRatings Ranking

Every year, the aviation product and safety rating website, AirlineRatings, selects the top 25 airlines in the world. To be included in the ranking, airlines must demonstrate a high safety rating (based on aviation governing body audits and airline safety data) and showcase leadership in passenger comfort innovation.

This year, Air New Zealand took the top spot, thanks to its "innovation of Economy Skynest, its passenger service, and its swift recovery from COVID-19 disruptions," as stated by the site's editor-in-chief, Geoffrey Thomas. According to Thomas, the team responsible for selecting the airlines "was impressed by the airline's commitment to economy class passengers" and asserts that Air New Zealand offers "more comfort options on long-haul flights than any other airline."

Qatar Airways, the winner in 2021 and 2022, secured the second position. Etihad Airways, the secondary national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, claimed third place. The site analyzed over 360 airlines, covering 99% of global passenger transport, to determine the top performers in terms of safety, innovation, and overall passenger experience.

These rankings provide valuable insights into airlines that prioritize customer satisfaction and have successfully navigated the challenges posed by the pandemic.
In an industry still grappling with the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, these leading airlines serve as beacons of hope, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to passengers worldwide.

For travelers seeking unforgettable journeys, Qatar Airways, United Airlines, and Qantas emerge as prime choices, showcasing their dedication to punctuality, customer satisfaction, and efficient problem-solving. Whether it's the luxurious travel experience
